Njivice is small fishing village on the west coast of the island of Krk, surrounded with dense forests, which offer shade during the hot summer days. Long evening walks along the coast, live music, dance terraces, old customs and traditions of the island, beautiful blue sea and excellent restaurants are the biggest mysteries of this place. Njivice offer a wide choice for a peaceful and relaxing holiday and for sport and recreation, too.

Njivice is first mentioned in the deed of gift of Prince Ivan Frankopan in 1474, but judging by the archaeological excavations says that the city was much earlier here. In the past Njivice was town whose inhabitants were mainly fishing, olive cultivation and harvesting of the forest. In 1930, the hotel Luka was build, now Jadran, and Villa Dinka, this year is regarded as the beginning of tourism in Njivice. In the past 80 years, tourism is the most important in Njivice. Beautiful beaches, ultra blue sea, lots of natural shade and a mild climate, with excellent accommodations are the trump cards that draw more visitors and make Njivice the popular tourist destination.

 NJIVICE, a small town and harbour at the western coast of the island of Krk, situated in the cove Beli Kamik. The harbour is enclosed by a breakwater; the anchorage ground Beli Kamik is protected from the bora and the sirocco, but exposed to the winds from the third and fourth quadrants. Smaller vessels anchor in front of the coast, north of the town (depth 10-12 m), and larger vessels north and west of the town (depth 30-40 m). Chief occupations are farming, fishing and tourism. Njivice is located on the local road, a branch road of the regional road running through the island.

 In the place, which was first mentioned in the 15th century, the ruins of Roman architecture were found near the sea.
