 Tučepi is one of the most appealing and most visited places on the famous Makarska Riviera, and a popular tourist destination in Croatia and Europe.

 Located at the foot of the Biokovo Mountain, the development of Tučepi began in the 1960s when the first houses were built in the village of Kraj on the coast, after which Tučepi began its transformation into a modern tourist destination, and now has a current population of around 1,800.

 Tučepi is famous for the longest and most beautiful beach on the Makarska Riviera (over 4 km long), also boasting a beautiful promenade of tamarisk and pine trees that create thick shade alongside the beach.

 An ideal destination for families with children who can play in the sea without any danger, as well as for young people who enjoy the excellent night life in nearby Makarska.

 The most impressive thing that Tucepi has to offer is definitely its beautiful beach. The beautiful pebbly beach is 3 km long; one could say that the whole little city is a beautiful long beach. Right above the beach, there isa promenade with a beautiful avenue of pine trees which offer shade in the hot summer days. The promenade goes to the neighbouring town Podgora, so you can take a walk along the sea to Podgora and check out the beautiful beaches there. Besides the beautiful,crystal-clear sea on the beach in Tucepi you can also find sun chairs for rent.

 Tučepi has the most beautiful pebble beach on the Makarska Riviera. The Biokovo Mountain offers lovers of nature, hiking, walking or extreme sports plenty of options and guarantees unforgettable experiences and ineffably beautiful scenery. If you are not interested in walking or hiking trails through the olive groves and pine forests that stretch across the hills to the mountain peaks, you can take a car through the nature park to the highest peak of Biokovo, St. Jure (1762m).

  There is also a nudist beach between Tucepi and Makarska. The beach is called Nugal, and you can reach it by foot through a pine forest and the beautiful preserved nature. The beach is surrounded by high cliffs and is considered a very romantic beach.

 When you are in Tucepi you should visit the Church of St. George which was raised in 1311 and it has been preserved till now as a one-nave Romanesque and Gothic building with a semicircular apse with painted crosses in the interior. Another interesting church which you can visit is the Church of St John which was built in 1703 as a nave building with all the features of the Dalmatian provincial baroque. The towers in Gornji Tucepi(upper Tucepi) were built to protect the city from the Turks and they offer a beautiful view of the sea and the surrounding area.

 Along with the nature park, Biokovo spreads its charm along the cliffs that with longer walking it is possible to see the old trails that connect the villages at the foot of Biokovo. Probably the most interesting place is the botanical garden of Fra Jure Radić in the village Kotišina. For fans of short hiking or biking, we recommend routes through the forest park Osejava towards Makarska and the path along the coast towards Podgora. Sports fans can relax on the sports field (tennis, table tennis, football, basketball, volleyball), while lovers of the sea or extreme sports can practice under the expert guidance of specialized agencies (such as scuba diving, jet-sky, sailing, rafting, etc…).

 From Tucepi there is a great possibility for day trips which you can either organize yourself or you can join one of the already organized day trips.

 If you are interested in an active holiday you can also join a day trip to the Cetina River, where you can enjoy the beautiful nature during a rafting trip.

 In Tucepi you can find many restaurants and taverns(locally called konoba) where you can find excellent food, especially if you are looking for typical Dalmatian dishes with loads of fresh fish and seafood. While your stay in Tucepi you should at least once visit a konoba, they usually have great food which is served in a typical Dalmatian ambient. Some of the popular konobas are the konoba Ranchand and konoba Postup. Another very popular place is the Bistro Tenor which offers excellent food and with its very friendly staff you will enjoy your meal even more.

 There are no nightclubs or discotheques in Tucepi, but you can find a few bars and beach bars where you can spend your evening and enjoy a drink. During the summer months there are always many events which you can join, like the evenings with klapa (Dalmatian a cappella groups) music. If you are looking for parties you will have to go to Makarska or even to Split where you can find nightclubs.
