Apartments Rooms Skakavac Opatija

Villa Skakavac is located in the seaside town of Ičići within walking distance (appr. 300m) from the beach. We have a variety of accommodation offerings from single rooms for 2 to a large apartment suitable for 6-7 guests. All apartments have kitchens and we have a common kitchen available for use for our guests staying in rooms. We offer free parking, free wifi internet and amazing views of the entire Kvarner bay. We also have a bbq available for use for our guests.

Villa Skakavac is also a great homebase for excursions to Učka, Istria, Rijeka and the islands of Krk and Cres.

Ičići (pronounced ee-chee-chee) is a small tourist town located on the Opatija Riviera on the coast of Kvarner bay. It is famous for the ACI marina and its attractive beach. For many years the beach has a Blue flag which is a symbol of quality and cleanliness. The beach has water sports, volley-ball, slide and a childrens playground. There are a few cafes and restaurants. You can rent paddle boats, chaise lounges and parasols.

The beach is connected by the Lungomare (promenade) to the nearby town of Lovran and the city Opatija. In Opatija you can find shopping, numerous restaurants, cafes and bars, entertainment, excursions, casinos and discos.

It is great for a couple that wants just room but want to be able to cook for themselves. Since it has an extra bed, it´s great for a couple with a child as well. It is situated on our main terrace.

A4 [A3] *** This apartment features two bedrooms, one has a large (queen-size) bed, the other has two singles. It also has a bathroom, kitchen and living/dining room. It is situated on our main terrace with view of the Kvarner bay and islands.

A4 **** [A10] This is a large ´deluxe´ apartment. It features two bedrooms, each with a double bed and own bathroom. The apartment has a kitchen/dining area, living area, private balcony and seperate WC. The apartment also features satelite tv and air-conditioning.

We have two rooms which have a large double bed and two which also have a second single bed. All are on either a private balcony or terrace. All have bathrooms, small refrigerator and teapot (for instant coffee or tea). We have a large, fully-equiped communal kitchen for use of our guests.

Icici is a quaint little village with approximately 1000 inhabitants situated on the coast of Kvarner Bay in the Northern Adriatic Sea. Icici is only 5 km away from Opatija and 15 km from Rijeka, the county capital. The village lies at the foot of the Ucka mountain, which is 1401 m in height and has, because of its natural beauties and attractive features, been declared a nature park.

On the road from Icici to the Ucka mountain you will find the small medieval town of Veprinac, whose city statute dates as far back as the year 1500. Icici offers an amazing view over the two largest Croatians islands, Krk and Cres, that form the entrance to Kvarner Bay. The inhabitants of Icici live mainly from the village´s tourism by providing restaurant services and private room rentals. Its favourable location has, over the years turned, Icici into a veritable tourism dream-spot, offering a wide range of different attractions to its guests – a rich gastronomic choice, numerous opportunities to try out new or well-known sports, memorable excursions and, naturally, a vibrant night life.

We must, of course, give special emphasis to the ACI marina in Icici, one of the largest marinas in Croatia with its great panorama of berthed yachts.

During the summer season tourists can make full use of Icici´s car camping site, which is situated close to both the beach and Icici´s tennis courts. Icici´s main tourist attraction remains its large beach, one of the most beautiful in the region and offering a variety of entertainment. Situated by the village center, it is part sandy beach and part concrete area. The beach is well managed and each year investments are made to further improve it, which is why it is regularly awarded the prestigious "blue flag". The entrance to the beach is free and open for all, and you can hire all that you need for your day out – deck chairs, umbrellas, pedal boats, etc. The beach is ideal for enjoying a variety of sports – beach volleyball, soccer, badminton on the sand, a water polo court in the sea. Children particularly love the beach´s large water slide. There are various restaurants to be found on the beach itself, a small supermarket that will satisfy everyone´s needs, and free wireless internet access for all (WLAN).

The beach is enclosed by the ACI marina on one side, and merges with the little harbour of Icici on the other side, which is as old as the village itself and has developed alongside it. This harbour is meant for smaller boats only and reminds us that Icici is a coastal village.

It is important to emphasize that the famous coastal walk, the "Lungomare", passes through Icici. Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria-Hungary ordered its construction in 1885, and it has been named after him. This beautiful coastal walk extends over 12 km from Volosko to Lovran with Icici marking just about its middle. In the evening hours it is discreetly illuminated and ideal for romantic walks.

The village of Icici is linked to other towns by regional and urban bus lines. The regional bus line 32 commutes every 20 minutes on the route Lovran-Icici-Opatija-Rijeka, but you can also take advantage of the local taxi-services, which are quite inexpensive. If you would like to spend your holiday in our village, then make your reservation through the local tourist agencies that are situated in the center of Icici and are best acquainted with the available accommodation.
