Kornić is located on a small hill in the southern part of the island Krk. Due to the “Magistrale” road which is located in the close vicinity of Kornić, it is accessible and attractive during all seasons. Kornić is located approximately 6 km from the town of Krk, 2 km from Punat and 500-800 m from the seaside. This place is named after the Latin word "Kornić" meaning raven (a bird that can still be seen today in this part of the island).

From Kornić you have a beautiful view to: the town Punat, Kosljun with its monastery as well as to the bay of Košljun (Puntarska draga). At the coast there is located the St. Dunat Chapel which was built in the 12th century. The Prohaska apartments are located in a family house in a quiet and green surrounding of Kornić. To our dear guests we offer accommodation in two apartments with a capacity of 4+2 and 4+1 beds.

Description of apartments:

Apartment 1 (60 m2) capacity 4+2 (ideal for max. 6 persons) with 2 two bedrooms, kitchen, dining room, bathroom with shower, bidet and toilet, a living room and a large terrace. The living room can be converted into a bedroom with 2-3 beds. The kitchen has everything needed for cooking (stove, cooking utensils), microwave oven, coffee maker, refrigerator with freezer, there is also a TV/SAT device, and a cooling fan.

Apartment 2 (55 m2) capacity 4+1 (ideal for max. 5 persons) has 2 bedrooms, one bedroom has a double bed and the other bedroom has one double bed and a separate bed for 1 person, bathroom, separate shower, kitchen with dining room (cooker, dishes, microwave oven, coffee machine, fridge and freezer), terrace overlooking the sea and the bay with the little island Košljun inside of it. This apartment is also equipped with TV/SAT. It has an air-conditioning unit at your choice (there is an additional fee for the air-conditioning: 5 EUR/day).

For guests who prefer activity holidays and e.g. enjoy diving, we have facilities in the backyard for drying wetsuits. For our younger guests, there are swings and a sandbox to play in the backyard of the house. Furthermore, there is a wonderful playground just 15 meters away from our house with seesaws, swings, slide and sandbox.

In the courtyard there are parking spaces. During the night, the yard closes, after all guests have returned home (guarded parking). Nearby the apartments there are shops, a church, a coffee shop, a bakery and the restaurant MAREA with homemade Croatian food. In Kornić you can also buy homemade products such as olive oil, brandy, cheese or wine. In Punat which is located 2 km away from Kornić, it is possible to buy the local wine: Vrbnik – Croatian name: Vrbnička žlahtina.

Nearby is beach Dunat, 800 m. Facilities at the beach: children´s playground with a sandbox, seesaw and carousel, swings, climbing, diving center, boat rental, beach volleyball, exchange office, restaurant and beach bar, ice cream, pool, shower, toilet, 2 slides. A Wakeboard center is located 400 meters from the beach (http://wakeboarder.hr/).

If you prefer swimming, sunbathing and a peaceful vacation without the crowds around you, in only 8 minutes by car you can get to some of the "wild" beaches located in a large pine forest of Prniba Peninsula. Prniba is a peninsula which is largely covered with pine trees interwoven with unpaved paths, on which you can go for a walk or ride a bike. The air is clean and healthy!

The town Krk nearby offers you several interesting sightseeing possibilities with many cultural monuments such as the cathedral and the Frankopan castle which are the best known town motives. And also the Kamplin square and the Church of St. Krsevan are well known and worth a visit.

Those who are looking for an active holiday can enjoy in diving, cycling, hiking trails, mini golf, table tennis, beach volleyball, basketball, handball, indoor soccer ... in almost every place on the island.

Taste the gastronomic offers of this island and try the traditional dishes – we especially recommend the excellent olive oil from Krk, Krk cheese, quality fish and lamb. Krk has many original taverns and very good restaurants.

Since the island is connected to the mainland by the bridge, this is one of very few islands with population growing instead of declining, due to developing economy (tourism, shipyards, construction, farming). Rijeka Airport is actually situated on Krk Island, which serves as a great support to local tourism.

The town Krk is a "capitol" of this island. Lovely Mediterranean town, with old fortresses, beautiful church, narrow curvy old streets and very nice promenade along the waterfront. During summer months, interesting cultural events taking place there, usually on the main square - concerts, folk-dances etc. Wonderful atrium inside the fortress (center of the picture) hosts lovely concerts of classical music, jazz and other cultural events. Superb atmosphere, great acoustics.

Krk is famous for its olive oil, golden and tender in taste. Harvesting olives becomes more and more popular tourist attraction, and is accompanied with interesting gastronomic events. Another Epicurean amenity of this island is Vrbnicka Zlahtina wine, white, dry, with rich bouquet that makes a fine accompaniment to local cuisine, focused on fresh fish, vegetables and lamb meat.

Krk is a great destination for active (diving, wind-surfing) or lazy holidays, for those seeking unspoiled nature as well for crowd-party fans. The island was long ago christened the Golden, maybe for its sunsets, golden pebbly beaches, olive oil, wine, honey…But its extremely varied relief and the very indented coast; dense forests, barren karst, picturesque bays and inlets, eight islets and fifteen rocky reefs - all these are only parts of an environment which often makes the visitor forget that he happens to be on an island. With its warm summers and mild winters the island really presents a complex and contrasting set of natural features. Above all, Krk is just about two hours by car from Croatian capital Zagreb. Biserujka cave is situated near village Rudine, on the northern side of the island Krk. It is 110 m long, with temperature always between 10 and 13´C and 80% humidity. The cave was opened for visitors at the end of 19th century, after numerous adventurers failed with their attempts to find treasure allegedly hidden there by some pirate from Senj.

When you got tired of the beach, go to the city harbour and pick one of the many local boat cruises, usualy organized by local agencies, using an older type of a boat like this one is. Its slow, yes, but very traditional, romantic, fun! It will take you along the coastline, visiting places along the way, perhaps some other islands nearby. These are usualy a day trips and sometimes, their agents will even visit you on the beach, offering leaflets and other related information, in short, lobbing you to join the tour.

The small quiet town Njivice on the west coast of the island of Krk in the cove Beli Kamik, in part, by waves and winds (Bora and Jugo), and about 10km from the mainland and Krk Bridge, Njivice is easy to reach, not to also last about 15km from the airport of Rijeka. Njivice, with its approximately 1,200 inhabitants, most of which are now employing in tourism and its beginnings to the year 1930 with the construction of the hotel "Luka" - now the Hotel Jadran - and the "Villa Dinka" are out back, good and cheap Hotel Hotel accommodation and hotel Beli Kamik Jadran, plenty of cheap accommodation in private accommodation, apartments, vacation rentals cheap private rooms and some good restaurants with local and international cuisine where international and national standard but also island-Site-Specific dishes and fish specialties can be found. Lovely rocky and pebbly beaches with gently sloping shade of old oak and pine trees surrounded Njivice like to make visit to the resort. Njivice is advisable to refrain, especially for those who want to tackle their holiday without a little quieter in one way or the other sports such as tennis, mini golf, bowling or a long walk along the sea.

Excursions, there are the islands of Cres and Rab, which is about 110m long limestone cave Biserujka above the bay Slivanjska and around the resort Rudine, or a wine tasting tour in the vineyards on the island of Krk to the regionally famous dry white wine "Vrbnicka Zlahtina to taste and enjoy. That approximately 409.9 km2, about 38 km long and up to 20km wide island of Krk is the largest island of Croatia.

The island of Krk is situated in the Kvarner bay across from Crikvenica Riviera. The northern tip of island of Krk approach extends to a mile to the mainland. At this narrowest point, you can reach the island since 1980 a 1309m long "Krk Bridge (toll). In the far north of the island of Krk is also the Rijeka airport, a flight opportunity for Istria, Kvarner, the islands of the Kvarner Bay, Island of Rab, Losinj, Cres island, the Kvarner Littoral and Croatian hinterland. The island of Krk has a well developed road network and extensive local connections on the island, a good connection to the mainland via the bridge of Krk, quick access to the last few years in Croatia developed motorway and expressways, and thus has easy access to Central and Western Europe and easy access to the neighboring islands of Rab, Cres and Losinj, on the ferry Valbiska (Island Krk) - Merag (Island Cres) with island Cres - Island Losinj, Valbinska (Krk) - Lopar (Island Rab) with the island of Rab .
