A weekend house of family Volic is placed in Pirovac, 200 metres from the sea. A part of the apartments, a spacious house plot with fruit-trees, flowers and medicinal herbs is the second place of stay and it confirms why this place won the 1st prize in the best arranged house plot of Pirovac in 2007. Barbecue, kettle, baking lid, open terrace, children´ mini playground, attractive evening lights, welcome with wine and brandy in the refrigerator and the hosts´ hospitality are the reasons why guests return here several times a year. Two one-roomed air-conditioned apartments, with extra bed in the dining room, are favourable for couples or smaller families. Their balconies, across the roofs of neighbouring houses, offer a partial view of the sea. However, the accommodation can be combined with a mini apartment in a mini annex right near the house.

PIROVAC is a lively, very beautiful town with many natural endowments. Industrious hands of few inhabitants ornamented it through past centuries with historic monuments of lasting value. It is situated at the farthest western point of the county of Sibenik and Knin. Pirovac is a municipal centre and, next to Primosten, Vodice, Murter, the most important municipal tourist centre of the Sibenik riviera. Mild climate, well-indented coast, numerous coves and sandy beaches, vegetation, pine forests and centenary olive-groves, clean and warm sea, magnificent sunsets, beauty of the coastal region – guarantee unique delights and experiences to all visitors of Pirovac.

Beautiful coves, Sitnica, Vrulje, Makirina and Vrilo with their pebbly beaches and clear sea are very charming and a special attraction is the islet of Sustipanac, situated right in front of Pirovac, where you can relax and enjoy swimming and sun tanning. In cove Makirina sites of peloid mud were found. This mud is very curative.

Pirovac is very close to two National Parks – “Kornati” and “Krka” and it is only 5 kilometres away from the Park of Nature “Vransko jezero”, which is very suitable for recreational fishing. Via the Adriatic Highway Pirovac is connected with cultural and historical centres, such as Sibenik, Zadar, Trogir and Split. The history of this Dalmatian place goes far back in the past. It was first mentioned in 1298 when it belonged to the noblemen from Bribir - the Subic family and later it became the property of the Sibenik Diocese and some noblemen from Sibenik. Pirovac The settlement itself was founded in the 15th ct. by the refugees who fled from the Turks. Nevertheless, this area was inhabited many centuries earlier than that which can be proved by the remnants of the Roman settlements found on the islet of St.Stephen. Many other historical monuments tell us about the gradual settlement and development of this place. There are, for example, defence walls from 1505, St.George´s church built in 1506 and renewed in baroque style in the 17th ct., gothic sarcophagus with the relief from 1447 in the chapel on the local graveyard and the remnants of the Franciscan monastery from 1511. Pirovac is situated along the Adriatic tourist road, 25km Pirovac northwest from Sibenik. It has typical Mediterranean aspect with its close built stone houses and narrow winding streets. Today its 1500 inhabitants occupy themselves mainly with the traditional jobs in agriculture and fishing as well as with tourism because on the Riviera of Sibenik, the biggest number of holiday homes is in Pirovac.

In the picuresque coves of Sitnica, Vrulje, Vrilo and Makirina there are beautiful beaches and the latter is known for its mud used for mud cures. Apart from some twenty or more restaurants offering fish and meat specialities and summer sports events, Pirovac offers all you need for a pleasant holiday.
