Apartments Kotc Podkoren

Kot`č Apartments are situated in the Podkoren village in the vicinity of St. Andrew’s church. One can enjoy a wonderful view of Zelenci nature reserve and Julian Alps with Mount Ponce in the background. Its sunny location makes the apartment a really special place to spend your holidays.

The apartments are up to 4 people in two separate bedrooms. They have modern kitchen with hob, cutlery for 4 people, kitchen towels, coffee machine. The apartment has a TV (cable), bed linen and has an exit to the balcony. Pets are not allowed. Parking is available.

The Zelenci nature reserve, at the source of the river Sava, is situated just west of the village. The Sava Dolinka flows east from here, to the south of Podkoren. Podkoren lies immediately below the Wurzenpass mountain pass leading into Carinthia in Austria.

The near Mt. Vitranc is a renowned ski slope where Ski World Cup for men – Vitranc Cup - takes place. On the northern slopes of Vitranc are ski slopes with ski lifts. Here is a ski trail for the competition in the World Cup.

Podkoren explained the settlement with the cluster center in the municipality of Kranjska Gora. It is located in the Zgornjasavska Valley, on the fan stream Jerebikovec (1617 m), at the foot of the hill Krotnjaka in western Karavanke, above the left bank of the River Sava Dolinka, which originates only slightly higher in Zelenci. From the main road Jesenice - Rateče the road branches off here over the international border crossing Wurzenpass in Austria. The upper part of the Zgornjasavskar Valley was up to railway construction in 1870 more than to other countries linked to Carinthia. There was »mitniška« station. The people engaged in animal husbandry and tourism.

On the northern slopes of Vitranc are ski slopes with ski lifts. Here is a ski trail for the competition in the World Cup. Ski resort Podkoren is in the eponymous site Podkoren. It consists of a Podkoren 1 and Podkoren 2. Podkoren 1 has the most difficult ski trails, whicht are marked with black. On these lines is also the venue for the World Cup in Alpine skiing. Ski runs are called: Zelenci, Ruteč and Podkoren. Ski trail Rutea nd ski trail Zelenci č have lift. Ski trail Podkoren the chairlift. Podkoren 2 has three blue lines and a blue red. Ski runs are called: Kolovrat, Pehta, Bedanec and Great Valley. Only Great Valley ski trail is a blue red, others are blue. Ski trail Kolovrat has the lift, and Ski trail Pehta and Bedanec too. Great Valley ski trail has chair lift. The entire resort Podkoren has five lifts, one 2-chair lift and one 4-chair lift. The ski resort is easily accessible, it is from the parking lot only approx. 100 m.
