In 1521 it has been the first census of the island. On it was then lived 26 families. The owner of land on the island was the municipality of Trogir. Families mostly engaged in agriculture. Rent for the land are paid in kind. In principle, it was down to 1/6 or 1/7 of the crop. The fields are cultivated mainly cereals. Due to the possibility of export of oil and wine are always more fields olive groves and vines. Over time, vigorously develop the livestock. Individual families have held even after 50 goats and more. In the early 17th century, the locals built the first mill for grinding olives. It was also in this century, published the first book on the island, which was printed in Rome. In 1705 it permanently lived here 126 people.
